Hello,

My DIVA components stopped working since yesterday and I'm getting an error saying that the run failed and a batch file is written to a directory.

1- My licence is ok and is working fine in the Archsim.

2-The Run settings of the annual daylighting analysis is set to "run simulation".

3- I manually ran the DIVA-updater.exe to get the latest version.

I'm not sure what is going wrong here. I appreciate your help.

Thank you,

Niloufar

Hi Niloufar,

Can you share your file(s)?

Jon

Hi Jon,

All my Rhino-GH files that had DIVA simulation set ups are having this problem. Please see attached for one of the files showing this problem.

Thanks for your time,

N

Hi Niloufar,

I had the same problem, and just figured out how to solve.

all i did is i removed diva and installed it again after deactivating my internet security, as it block some url during the installation. Hope this help.

John

Hi Jon,

I'm getting the same error. Is there a solution that doesn't involve uninstalling and reinstalling? I just ran the updater and it seems this might have been the root of the problem (it was working fine before the update).

Also - we cannot deactivate our internet security here.

Thanks for any help on this.

Based on the other discussions, I'm guessing this is an issue with the updater rather than the new version itself.  It could be that a security update is preventing the files from downloading properly.  See Elliot's thread -- includes a link to download the files manually.

Hi Jon,

Same problem as Niloufar here.

So I went to the other thread, downloaded the file and copied the 5 files in their exact destinations.

When I run grasshopper after doing this, a loading problem occurred.

I uploaded here the text file with the errors.

Thanks for the help.

Maybe try turning off memory loading?  Type "GrasshopperDeveloperSettings" at the Rhino command line and uncheck "Memory load *.GHA assemblies".  After restarting Rhino, this should force GH to re-load the assemblies from disk.

Hi Jon,

It is working indeed.

But I have to keep unchecked it, otherwise the message pop up again.

Is it a problem to leave it unchecked from now on?

Hi Jon,

I must correct myself.

Now grasshopper does not charge any DIVA or Archsim component if the  "Memory load *.GHA assemblies" is unchecked

Hi,

John, thanks for sharing your experience. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling DIVA with my anti-virus turned off, but when I turned it on and tried running a simulation, my anti-virus detects a virus and apparently stops it from running.

Jon, I tried to run a simulation with my anti-virus turned off, but it gave me an additional error saying that "the executable file diva.exe not found". When I open the zipped folder for manual installation, my anti virus deletes DIVA.exe......

by the way, I noticed I haven't attached the Rhino-GH file because it was oversized. I'm attaching them now.

thanks

Federico,

Not sure I follow.  Leaving memory loading unchecked should be okay.  The option does mention potential issues for non-administrators, but I'm not sure if that's in play here.  Can you confirm where you saved the files?

Thanks Niloufar.  I'm sure your GH files are fine -- the issue is clearly the antivirus block.  Not sure why diva.exe would be mistaken for a something nefarious, but I'll look into it.  Sometimes these softwares flag EXEs that are uncommon, so we may have to add a VeriSign-type certificate.
