I am running simulation for different situations for Illuminance in different days in the year on Diva4Rhino, I realized that it takes a long time since I need to wait for each simulation to finish then I start a nwe one with different parameters. then I decided to use Grasshopper, I first repeat one of the days I have already done in Diva4Rhino, I noticed a big different in the results between Diva4Rhino and DIVA GH! I made sure of the materials they are the same, I assign the same geometries as berps from the same file. there is a tiny different between the number of Nodes, dont think it justifies the huge difference, of average Illuminance, it was 1100LX in Rhino and 800Lx in GH!

the bounces where only 1 just to compare. should I use like 6 bounces to make sure?

is there any explanation?

the next question is related, the number of nodes is different between Rhino and GH, although it is the same working plane 690cmX450cm and the same grid 30X30cm! why is that? does it make much difference?

Hi Ahmad,

There could be many possible reasons for these discrepancies. Could you upload the Rhino and Grasshopper files to the forum? If you have any custom materials, upload those as well. Also please let us know what climate file you are using.

It shouldn't. The reason is that the toolbar and the Grasshopper side use different algorithms. The toolbar spaces sensors somewhat further away from the walls than the Grasshopper equivalent (not enough to account for a 300 lx difference in the average however).

Thanks for your reply, I realized what was the problem, I was using three groups of nodes, the order of the nodes was not correct, thats why each group had different average in GH than the same group Diva4Rhino. I relisted the nodes to correct the order and solved the problem. thank you very much.
