Hi

I've googled around this forum without luck in searching for a solution for this error. I have a basic setup in which I am testing different shading devices to get a radiation map on my structure. It's been working perfectly fine except in one of my shading geometries.

I get a Microsoft VBScipt runtime error after simulation in a few hours :-)

File not found

Line: 2095

Char: 2

I'm doing the Daysim-based hourly method with the parameters:

-ab 5 -ad 1000 -as 20 -ar 512 -aa 0.1

This is with the diva version 3.0 alpha

VBScript error 2095

Hi Mathias,

It looks like your simulation with that specific shading geometry is failing for some reason, but there is a little bug in what is supposed to happen after it fails with the Daysim-Based method apparently. So thanks for pointing that out.

You can explore a little more by doing the following:

- Run the simulation, let it fail.

- Browse to C:\DIVA\RhinoFileName\ and open RhinoFileName.bat with a text editor.

- Add the text "PAUSE" to a new line at the bottom. Save and close the file.

- Double-click on it, and look for the error text.

It would be super if you shared the problem here too. We can help interpret what is afoot.

Best,

Alstan

Hi Alstan

Thanks for a quick reply as always. I did solid union on my different shading objects together into one object and it could simulate succesfully! I guess geometry was too complex.

It looks like I ran out of memory, didnt it?

I can send you the files if you need them for bugfixing in future release.

Hi Mathias,

That's a rare error -- usually Radiance/Daysim will balk at building the octree before rtrace runs out of memory. I don't need to see the file, but I'm glad you worked it out!

Best,

Alstan
