Hello,

i have a problem with the illuminance values. In my opinion, the values should decrease with increasing room depth. But in my simulation the values go up and down (picture).

Does anyone know what the problem is? The files are attached.

I really appreciate your help!!!

Regards,

Jasmin

Indeed, the results in your Rhino viewport make no sense.  You should get the following, for noon on June 21 in Stuttgart:

Two questions:

1) Which version of the DIVA-Grasshopper components do you have? (Right click on the center of Daylight component.)

2) What decimal symbol does your computer use?  (Check "additional settings" under Control Panel > Region).  If it's a comma, try changing it to a period.

Jon

Dear Jon,

thank you for your quick reply. I use DIVA Version 4.0.2.17 (64 bit). I changed the decimal symbol from a comma to a point. Now the values are correct. Thank you very much for your help!!!

I have just another question. Is it possible to change the legend of the illuminance? Currently it ranges from 0 to 2000 lux. I would like to have these from 0 to 50000 lux. How can I do this?

Thanks in advance,

Jasmin

Zoom into the Grid Viewer component until you see the little '+' buttons for adding inputs/outputs.  Illuminance falsecolor min & max should be among the addable inputs.

Thanks a lot for your helpful answer!!!

Hello,

I'm sorry that I write again but I have another problem with the illuminance values.

I have to simulate a room with a shading with slats. If I draw these so (file "Variante 26" attached) the values are correct. The values decrease with increasing room depth.

Because I have to check which size and distances of the slats are optimal, I draw these so (file "Variante 22" attached). The values rise with increasing room depth which can not be right. Besides, it shows two values on top of each other.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

I really appreciate your help!!!

Jasmin

Hello,

I tried it again today an I think I know what the problem is but I don't know how I can solve that. DIVA launches two simulations successively. The values of the first simulation are correct, but the values from the second simulation not. The values of the second simulation write it over the values of the first simulation, after saving it shows me only the values of the second simulation.

How can I solve the problem? I need this very urgently for my bachelor thesis.

I really appreciate your help!!!

Regards,
Jasmin

You need to flatten the data tree of scene objects.  You're providing a tree with two branches, so the Annual Daylight component will run twice.  This also explains the odd results, since neither branch includes all the geometry.

Dear Jon,

thank you for your answer!

Okay that sounds logical. But how can I do that? I only recently worked with diva and am totally overstrained.

Greets,

Jasmin

Thanks a lot!!
