Hi,

So LEED v4 Daylight Interpretation (ID# 100002149) indicates:

- "spaces with an ASE1000,250h score greater than 10.0% and less than 20.0% are acceptable with a narrative describing how the space is designed to address glare."

and

- "Additionally, spaces with an automated dynamic façade system* OR spaces smaller than 250 square feet are exempt from the ASE requirement."

I am wondering:

1. Does the current Diva "LEED v4 sDA+ASE" metric adopt the addenda?

2. How ASE requirement could be waived in the final results, if my project has either automated dynamic façade system or <250 sqf space?

Many thanks! Cheney

Hi Cheney,

1. No, but you are of course free to create a narrative to address spaces / buildings with ASE1000,250 >10.

2. In the case of either of the addenda, you'd need to composite your own results by loading ASE / sDA separately. In addition, you can model a shading system with detailed automated controls while simulating DA at 300 lx to replace sDA if you have such a system.

Detailed shades won't work at the whole-building level in Rhino, so you need to either use the Grasshopper component or work in representative pieces of the building for predicting automated controls.

Best,

Alstan

Thanks Alstan! The answers are very clear to me.
