After running an illuminance simulation in Grasshopper I try to load the results via the dat file but get an error that says "Microsoft VBScript runtime error" "Input past end of file" Line: 25" "Char: 3"
Anyone know what this means and how I can fix the problem? The files are attached for reference and it is Rhino 4.9 and DIVA 1.9.
Simulations run in Grasshopper can't be loaded using the DIVA toolbar. The reason for this is that the Grasshopper nodes aren't necessarily structured in any specific way. Usually it is best to visualize them in Grasshopper, for example, by coloring some geometry. I just started poking around with the thermal components and was wondering about visualization. Does it work similarly to daylight visualization? From the tutorials I have a graph- but it is not that informative. What kind of thermal visualizations is DIVA capable of?
DIVA is really only capable of what you see in terms of automated visualizations. I agree, its lacking. It is one of our missions to improve the visual aspect of the thermal output this year.
But in terms of information, you can extract a lot of meaningful stuff! There are hourly (and annual, monthly, weekly, daily) csv files of results created after any simulation. You can see these in your simulation results folder. You can also add any valid EnergyPlus simulation outputs to these files by editing the c:\DIVA\Thermal\Rhino\07_output_control.idf file. When you run a thermal simulation, there will be rdd and mdd files which list all possible outputs which can be included in the 07_output_control.idf file. You should make sure anything you put in there gives results hourly.

Thanks Alstan, I appreciate the reply. If I can add something to your to do list (it is likely already there): I started exploring DIVA because of my frustration with modeling in Ecotect. However, Ecotect makes it easy to export reasonably high quality graphic information as metafiles. Unless I'm missing something (highly possible) the only way to get the same graphic data out of DIVA is to take a screenshot. It would be great to have some better graphic export options. That said, thank you for all of your work on DIVA, and for being so helpful in the forums.
I got the same error at the end of a calculation, using Rhino 5 and Diva 2.0, I believe.
It says "Microsoft VBScript runtime error, INPUT PAST END OF FILE Line 189 Char 3"
That probably means the simulation is failing with some error. If you zip the C:\DIVA\Temp\[RhinoFileName]\ folder and email it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org, I can take a look.
