Actually you're right. the tools are gorowing so fast and for us as architects or even users it's gonna really complicated to choose which are more reliable and validated. FYI i should tell you about Ecotect because you mentioned. Ecotect is no more available and had been changed from Ecotect to Autodesk Vasari which is not yet released officially. Dr. Andrew Marsh developed his Doctoral thesis to Ecotect in 1997 and that was only for 10 to 15 years after that his efforts with Autodesk got stopped I don' know Why. the point is there are list of some validated analysis modules here by the time, and what I really insist to use is Energy Plus for Heat and Cool Load, Daysim and Radiance for daylight simulation, Eva Glare for Glare calculation. Because I don't know exactly what is your simulation scenario which is the very important thing should be defined, I just can explain generally. all the analizer I insisted has been gathered in DIVA. that is why I asked our CEO to provide it for the firm but that's not the important thing. the thing I really stickd to DIVA for our professional and academical works is its adapting with Grasshopper and Rhino which makes you more flexible in everything.

First of all, You are right, I did not give too much information before. I was just enthusiast i found somebody to share my research.
I am studying the indoor environment ( workplace) of office buildings.
The research includes the thermal , lighting and acoustical performance of the buildings.
I chose some case studies in Tirana , which actually lack todays technology and energy efficiency.
Lets say , the implementation of Double skin facades is scarce here, because of the lack of architects knowledge and superficiality to propose or use it , developers skepticism , local industry, cost etc.
Nevertheless, what I aim to do , is to propose a Double skin facade for these buildings in order to raise energy efficiency , overall performance and employee's comfort.
I have gathered data about the existing conditions of these workplaces from questionnaires and field study, and i am going to simulate one of these building according to its parameters.
I read a recent research of Reinhart regarding DIVA , and as far as i understood it is a more versatile program, not just for daylighting at least.
So to me it is important to justify what are the benefits of using DSF , and how to show that. If you have anything to suggest , please feel free to do so.
